Changing Lives would like to extend a big “Thanks” to the wonderful people of San Antonio and especially for the support and hospitality of those who sponsored this event: Palmer Drug Abuse Program (PDAP), San Antonio Fighting Back and the Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio.
The two-hour workshop was very well attended (standing room only, with over 140 attendees). Joe and a volunteer did some role playing, there was plenty of good food, interaction, laughter and applause . . . and we had an emotional ending (see below).

The workshop looks like it was a total sucess! I’m still trying to nail a commitment for a time for you and Judy to come here to CBC. I will let you know as soon as I know and I’m still praying it is early 2001, but no firm time yet.
Our new semester started during the last two weeks for our other support groups; I’m sorry I didn’t response soon to your emails and call. Say hello to Judy for me.
In Him,

I cannot believe PDAP is still around! They are awful. When I was a teenager, the people at PDAP told my parents to kick me out of the house or I might never recover from my terrible addictions, and they did so. The idea was for me to go to other PDAP members for help. I made a comment about beer and ended up homeless. I was not then and have never been addicted to any substance. Heck, I don’t even drink. My life was made exponentially harder because of those awful people. I was never welcomed back home, and I’m sure I’m not the only person who was abused by the general practices of that program.
