Share

Sometimes the best thing you can do for someone you love is to DETACH from them.
Joe Herzanek author of Why Don’t They Just Quit, discusses detachment on this weeks show.

Listen Now.

Learn:
How do you know when to detach?
How do I know what to say and do (and what NOT to say and do)?
When to let that person back into your life?
What if children are involved?
What if they hurt themself?
What if they hurt someone else?
What if I lose this relationship?
What if they just “can’t” quit?

This info can be found more in-depth in Chapter 14 of Why Don’t They Just Quit? What families and friends need to know about addiction and recovery.

God bless! My son completed 2 years in Teenchallenge and now is on staff at the Bread of Life Mission in Seattle Washington. Praise God! Families can heal. Don’t give up on your loved ones and stay out of God’s way.

I stayed out of the way for 12 years while my son was lost in Las Vegas. No communications but for my continued praying. Then one day 9 months ago, he called and asked my help. I flew him up here to Washington and delivered him to Teen challenge. He has been there ever since, on fire for Jesus. He is going to the 2 year program to work on his credentials and talking about missions.

I am still going to stay out of the way, but be ready to help support his dreams to do God’s work.

Fantastic! It looks like your patience paid off and you will be having a Very Merry Christmas.

All the best in the new year, Joe
